Visualizing Quality in a Crisis
Greetings from Mapvision in the middle of these tough times!
As we together fight the pandemic and its effects on the industry, I would like to share with you some positive thoughts regarding the future after the crisis. My feeling is that with the learnings from the past weeks and expectations for the upcoming months, we have a chance to change the automotive industry for good.
Yes, we, too, have had to lay off people temporarily and some of our team members now work only part-time. This is, however, mainly because some customer projects have been delayed since people are not allowed to get to the premises and work with the equipment on location and because regular service work has been interrupted due to plant shutdowns. The will is there, but the means are momentarily on hold.
The good news is that we at Mapvision are all healthy and have the capacity to deliver immediately when the virus situation allows. We can also take new orders and can commit to fast delivery times, and might even be able to provide attractive prices on fast orders.
Our team at Mapvision is more motivated than ever. We are fighting not only to keep our company running, but also to accelerate the change on the way the automotive industry works.
New Mapvision products
Even if we have seen a reduced workload in deliveries and production, product development continues with full capacity at Mapvision despite the crisis. We have many product launches coming up. Latest out are our new Production Analytics Overviews, and new Mapvision Care service programs are next. We will also be launching several new software products during the spring that will help you visualize the quality of production lines. Stay in-line for those!
Join our experts on Mapvision webinars
Now that many workplaces are closed, it is a great time for learning and training. This in mind, we have launched a series of Mapvision webinars about timely topics, such as remote management, ROI calculations of premium inspection equipment and new Mapvision services. A lot of useful information available for production planning and operations, wherever you are and whenever it suits you and your team.
The new normal in automotive manufacturing
Ever since our company’s founders started their research on visual real-time industrial measurement, and all through the development of our first fully digital 100% in-line inspection systems, we at Mapvision have had a strong vision about the future of manufacturing. With the challenging economic environment we are now facing, this vision has become more relevant by the day.
Remote management of inspection equipment, online trainings, quicker adjustments of production lines and faster calibrations of refurbished factories, which we must practice now, will all help us to transform our industry. In my opinion, this will be the new normal. We simply cannot afford to go back to the old ways of quality inspection, such as old-school CMM-based systems.
Let’s take this opportunity to emerge stronger and create something better. Right now, we are all struggling, but with solutions that allow faster ramp-ups, more flexibility and more efficient production, I believe we have the tools to do it.
